• Rožnov p. R. - Pustevny - Radhošť - Rožnov p. R.

From Rožnov we set out in the direction of Slovakia. We drive through the villages of Dolní and Střední Bečva and after passing the Zavadlík road café we turn left, a ten kilometre ascent to Pustevny follows where we park in the central car park. We take a short walk through Pustevny, then a hike along the ridge to the top of Radhošť.

From Rožnov we set out in the direction of Slovakia, park at Bumbálka and we can walk to the Sůkenická mountain hotel with the lookout tower standing next to it. The lookout tower offers a beautiful view of the Beskydy Mountains in good weather. Then we move on to the largest village in the Czech Republic, to Velké Karlovice, which is know by its numerous timbered buildings. We can also visit the Karlovské Museum and the wooden Karlovský church dating from 1752. Then we continue in the direction of Solaň, where before reaching the peak, we can look into the Gallery below Solaň. On the peak we can order refreshments in the Čarták pub, where Wallachian artists met. Then we descend into the village of Hutiska-Solance and we find ourselves back in Rožnov.

From Rožnov we drive through the three villages of Dolní, Prostřední and Horní Bečva, across the valley of the Bečva River, to the crossroads at Hlavatá where we turn towards Bilá with its typical cottages. We continue through Staré Hamry to the dam at the Šance reservoir, which supplies potable water to the Ostrava region. In Ostravice we can climb the highest mountain in the Beskydy Mountain range – Lysá Hora (1323 metres above sea level). Then we continue on to Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, where the airport offers sightseeing flights. We then pass through Čeladná and Kunčice p.O. with its wooden church imported from the Ukraine in 1931. In Frenštat pod Radhoštěm we can cool down in hot weather at the local aquapark or visit the ski-jumps with their plastic surface. Then it’s only a short drive over Pindula hill, which divides the Moravian-Silesian District from the Zlín District and we are home.
