Hiking trails

 

12 km, undemanding

From Rožnov we set out along the hiking trail marked with the red sign, we climb up Radhošt peak from were we set out along the ridge to Pustevny. We can return by the same route or take a bus from Pustevny to Rožnov p.R., or take the cable car to Trojanovice and continue by bus through Frenštat p.R. to Rožnov p.R.

Rožnov p.R. - a town known throughout the world for its Wallachian Museum in Nature, which was founded by the Janroňkov brothers; a wooden evangelical prayer house; Hradisko – the ruins of a Gothic castle dating from the 13th Century.
Radhošť - a legendary mountain and place of pilgrimage with a wooden chapel and the sculptural group of St. Cyril and Methodius
Pustevny - a recreational and tourist centre with historical wooden buildings designed by the architect, Dušan Jurkovič.


 

 
28 km, undemanding

From Rožnov we set out along the hiking trail marked with the blue sign, which we follow along the whole route, past the farms at Kutiska and Videčské Paseky, we pass by the wooden church in Velká Lhota, cross the dam of the Bystřička reservoir and start to climb in the direction of Klenov nad Dušnou from where the trail descends through Putýrka to Vsetín.

Velká Lhota - a timbered evangelical tolerance church dating from 1783, where the pastor, Jan Karafiát, the author of the well-known children’s book, Broučky (Little Beetles), was active
Bystřička - a water reservoir built during the period from 1907-1912 with a dam that is 36.5 m high and 170 m long
Klenov - a forested hill with sandstone cliffs
Dušná - a mountain saddle and the crossroads of hiking and cycle trails.
Vsetín - a town with a Renaissance mansion, which houses the Regional Homeland Study Museum of Vsetín
Maštaliska - a former mansion with stable dating from the beginning of the 18th Century.

 
14 km undemanding

The whole route follows the hiking trail marked with the red sign. Travel from Horní Bečva to Rožnov p.R. by bus


Čertův mlýn - a striking sandstone massif
Martiňák - a mountain saddle with tourist chalet
Horní Bečva - an extensive village in whose cadastre the natural monument of Kudlačena, a peaty foothill meadow in which protected species are found, is located.


 

 
  • Soláň - Tanečnice - Rožnov p. R.
15 km medium demanding

We travel up Soláň by bus from Rožnov p.R. in the direction of Hutisko-Solanec, then we set out along the hiking trail marked with the red sign and from Tanečnice we follow the hiking trail marked with the green sign back to Rožnov p.R.


Soláň - a culturally historical locality and a crossroads of hiking and cycle trails. To the west of here there is the Čarták mountain saddle where the Portáš station was established in the past, later on it became a well-known pub in which well-known Wallechian artists met.


 

 
7 km medium demanding

Travel to Valašská Bystřice from Rožnov p.R. by car or bus, then set out along the hiking trail marked with the red sign from Ptáčnice in the direction of Vsacký Cab, continue along the hiking trail marked with the yellow sign. You can return by the same route or continue further along from Vsacký Cab to Dušná (+5 km), from there you can take the bus back to Valašská Bystřice, Rožnov p.R. or to Vsetín.


Valašská Bystřice - a former Portáš station, mentioned as early as 1651. There is a late Baroque church in the town dating from the period of 1722-1778. There are two Portáš stone tombs from the Křenek family, the Bystřice reeves, in front of the church
Ptáčnice - a mountain peak
Vsacký Cáb - a mountain peak on whose southern slopes the Kutaný nature reservation is located, one of the last remnants of fir-beech forests. A tourist chalet dating from 1928 stands below the peak.
